Services:
Ealing Mencap represents the interests of people with learning disabilities and their carers within the London borough of Ealing. We are a voluntary organisation which successfully combines committed volunteers and paid staff. We run a range of projects to help people with learning disabilities and their carers.
Projects based at the Lido Centre are:
- Empowerment Project - helping people with learning disabilities speak up for their rights
- Partners PowerGroup/Ealing Partners - supporting people to speak up at the partnership board
- Peer Advocacy - supporting peer advocates, living in supported accommodation, to check up on each other
- Carers Development - supporting carers to participate in the planning process
- Older Carers Project - helping parents plan for what happens when they are no longer there
- Volunteer Project - recruiting and supporting volunteers with Ealing Mencap
- Housing support - advice, guidance and support for people trying to find a decent place to live
